This is a must if your a fan of Soul food. The atmosphere is great. I can feel the love for the food and business all around. I came here on a Friday morning with cousin. We were in town visiting for the weekend. I had heard so much about their food. When I arrived and entered the establishment I immediately felt at home. Smiles all around with the staff. We sat at the sitting bar to avoid the 25 minute wait. (not bad for a Friday) I tried the special that day.. Fried Shrimp and grits. Now, I must say it was my first time trying it this way. It was tasty. The only thing that I wasn't a fan of was the grits did have a few lumps. Not a deal breaker though. My cousin got the Catfish with two sides lunch portion. Fire!!! Yes, i tried hers too. For next time, I do know I will be having Catfish with yams and mac. My first choice or the Catfish breakfast. Keep up the great job. Food is fantastic, atmosphere is jumping and service was great. I can't wait to come back.

When the locals come and sit down here for breakfast you gotta know it's that good. Delicious french toast, I wish I hadn't eaten beforehand or I would've gone all in for the shrimp and grits.. one day. Also, if you don't get the grilled cornbread with honey and butter you're frankly a little kooky. No pictures it got devoured.

This place lived up to the hype. Perfect place for a good breakfast. I got the salmon croquettes with Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes and everything was sooo good. The portions were good and I left so happy and full. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. My fiancé got the hot link with eggs and potatoes and he said everything he had was also delicious.. I would definitely recommend this place for a good breakfast/lunch to start your day .

Me and my family were in the area visiting with other family, and we wanted a local spot to eat for breakfast. The ambiance was more of an old school place, which I truly appreciated. The server that took our order was extremely nice and patient, as we didn't know what we wanted. When I tell you food is good.....it was good!! I got the special, which was the fried shrimp and grits with a chicken gravy....baby that was DELICIOUS!! My daughter got the pancakes and fried chicken. the. pancakes were Fluffy and chicken highly seasoned! Also, my husband got the breakfast burrito, which was really good with the fresh veggies. next time we are in the area, this is the spot! Also, after our meal, the owner stopped by the table and made sure everything was ok and gave us a great welcome.

Sooooo yummy! We ended up ordering the Signature Spoon (French toast + sausage) and the Spooner Breakfast (ham + grits + sourdough bread) and it was delicious. Definitely the best French toast I've had in a long time and a plus they bring out warm syrup!! The ham was the perfect thickness and went well with the grits and eggs. Service was friendly and fast! Will definitely be back to try more of their items on the menu + get the French toast again.

So this was a whole vibe coming here on Thursday of last week, 6/13! Just arrived in LA for the weekend and we came here to grab a bite. We sat outside since we were waitlisted...30-45 min wait. Have been here before and it was worth our wait. While sitting outside, there was a bee swarm, that flew above us and they bees were dropping pollen, all over....got on my clothes so we had to move. While sitting there, a gentleman went in to get his grandson...so he would be aware of the bee swarm. Not that he controlled any of it, but Justin came out to make sure we were ok. And also my friend was able to share with him her "bee info". So this activity was a lot and very different for our afternoon...but we were seated right after this. Definitely not your typical afternoon here... Food as always was on point, I ordered the fried catfish with greens and yams and it was amazing as always. Just the perfect amount of food and can I tell you I need that cornbread in my life always! I know that this will always be a stop for me when in town! I love when people are just kind...Justin definitely made this trip and stop! Just a decent human being and thank you so much!!!!

The food is so good, everything is seasoned to perfection, fish and pork chop were perfectly cooked, and the sides are also good! The grilled corn bread is a great way to start the meal as well! Service is great, everyone is super nice and friendly. Very homey vibe in there.
